Here's another fun Make It QuickTM project-a knitted or crocheted bag. Watch for them on magazine fashion pages as a "soft" alternative to leather. You'll be delighted at how comfortable they are to wear and easy to create
Size: Approx 9 1/2" x 12"
LION BRAND® Wool-Ease Thick & Quick, Item #640 (6 oz. balls)
Gauge: 2 stitches and 3 rows = 1" in stockinette stitch
BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE.
Cast on 26 sts. Work in garter stitch (knit every row) for 2 rows. Work in stockinette stitch (knit on right side, purl on wrong side) until piece measures 18" from beginning, ending with a purl row. Next row (make buttonhole) Knit 12, yarn over, knit 2 together, knit 12. Knit 2 rows. Bind off all stitches.
Fold piece in half and sew side seams.
Cast on 80 stitches. Next row Bind off all stitches. Attach strap to side seams at top of purse. Weave in loose ends and sew on button.
